PRivacy policy

PART 1: PRIVACY POLICY

This privacy policy applies to the Tippnee app (hereby referred to as “Application”) for for supported electronic devices (including but not limited to smartphones, tablets, and computers) that was created by SIGNOFI AI TECHNOLOGIES PRIVATE LIMITED (hereby referred to as “Service Provider”) as a Freemium service. This service is intended for use “AS IS”.

Information Collection and Use

The Application collects information when you download and use it. This information may include information such as:

  • Your device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address)
  • The pages of the Application that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages
  • The time spent on the Application
  • The operating system you use on your device
  • Device integrity signals (collected via trusted third-party services like Google Play Services) to prevent fraud, block unauthorized bots, and ensure the Application is running on a secure, untampered device.

The Application does not track or gather real-time, precise GPS location information from your device. However, as noted below, we do collect the physical address information you voluntarily provide to us.

The Application uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies to enhance user experience and provide certain features. The AI components may process user data to deliver personalized content, recommendations, or automated functionalities. All AI processing is performed in accordance with this privacy policy and applicable laws. If you have questions about the AI features or data processing, please contact the Service Provider.

The Service Provider may use the information you provided to contact you from time to time to provide you with important information, required notices, and essential transactional updates (such as password reset emails, account notifications, or subscription invoices). We do not use your email to send marketing promotions.

In order to create an account and use the core features of the Application, the Service Provider requires you to provide certain personally identifiable information, including your Email, First Name, Last Name, general location information (Country, State, City), and Date of Birth. This information is strictly necessary to set up your profile, verify your eligibility, and manage your account. Additionally, the Service Provider uses your general location information to deliver relevant, localized in-app content, promotions, and advertisements. You may also choose to provide your mobile phone number on a strictly optional basis. If provided, this phone number is retained securely and will only be used for future account verification or security purposes. The information that the Service Provider requests will be retained by them and used as described in this privacy policy.

Payment Information and In-App Purchases

The Application offers in-app purchases and subscriptions. All payment transactions are processed securely through third-party app stores (such as the Google Play Store or Apple App Store). The Service Provider does not directly collect, process, or store your raw financial data (such as full credit card numbers or bank account details). We only receive purchase confirmation tokens and receipt data necessary to unlock your purchased digital features and manage your subscription.

Third Party Access

To provide a functional experience, the Application utilizes third-party services that process data in accordance with their own Privacy Policies. These services are essential for account authentication, processing in-app purchases, and providing map-based features.

The Service Provider may disclose User Provided and Automatically Collected Information:

  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena, or similar legal process;
  • when they believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect their rights, protect your safety or the safety of others, investigate fraud, or respond to a government request;
  • with their trusted services providers who work on their behalf, do not have an independent use of the information we disclose to them, and have agreed to adhere to the rules set forth in this privacy statement.
Opt-Out Rights and Managing Your Data

You can stop all future collection of information by the Application easily by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall processes available on your mobile device. You also have the following opt-out options:

  • Device Permissions: You can modify your mobile device settings to revoke access to certain permissions (such as camera, photo gallery, or push notifications) at any time.

Please note: Because the Service Provider only sends essential transactional emails (such as password resets and billing invoices) necessary for the functioning of your account, you cannot opt-out of these specific communications unless you permanently delete your account.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location and applicable data protection laws, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

  • Right to Access: You have the right to request a copy of the personal data the Service Provider holds about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You have the right to request correction of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
  • Right to Erasure (Deletion): As outlined in our Data Retention Policy, you have the right to request the permanent deletion of your personal data.

To exercise any of these rights, please use the provided in-app features (such as “Delete Account” in your settings), or contact the Service Provider at info@tippnee.com. They will process your request in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Data Retention Policy

The Service Provider will retain User Provided data for as long as you use the Application and for a reasonable time thereafter to provide you with the services.

To give you control over your data, the Application provides the option to either temporarily de-activate or permanently delete your account:

  • Account De-activation: If you choose to de-activate your account, your profile and associated content will become invisible to other users. However, the Service Provider will securely retain your User Provided Data. This allows you to easily recover your data and re-activate your account at any time simply by logging back into the Application.
  • Account Deletion: If you choose to delete your account, this is a permanent and irreversible action. The Service Provider will permanently delete your Personally Identifiable Information (including, but not limited to, your First Name, Last Name, Email, Address, and Date of Birth) from their active databases. Please note that the Service Provider may retain certain anonymized and aggregated data that can no longer identify you for analytics and AI system improvements, as well as any data strictly necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce agreements. For India-specific account deletion and data retention requirements, please see Part 3 below.

How to Request Data Deletion:
The Application provides you with full control over your data through the following methods:

  • Account Deletion: You can permanently delete your entire account and all associated profile data at any time directly within the Application settings.
  • In-App Content Deletion: You can use the provided “Delete” buttons within the app to immediately remove specific content you have published, such as posts, comments, or media.
  • Manual Request: If you encounter any data that you are unable to delete yourself using the in-app features, or if you wish to request the removal of specific information without deleting your account, please contact the Service Provider at info@tippnee.com. We will process your request to remove the specified information and respond within a reasonable timeframe (typically within 30 days).
Children

The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the age of 13.

The Application does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Service Provider does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case the Service Provider discover that a child under 13 has provided personal information, the Service Provider will immediately delete this from their servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact the Service Provider (info@tippnee.com) so that they will be able to take the necessary actions.

Security

The Service Provider is concerned about safeguarding the confidentiality of your information. The Service Provider provides physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information the Service Provider processes and maintains.

PART 2: COMMUNITY SAFETY GUIDELINES

Welcome to Tippnee! Our mission is to provide a safe, respectful, and engaging platform for everyone. To protect our community, we enforce a strict Zero-Tolerance Policy against abusive, illegal, or harmful behavior. By using Tippnee, you agree to follow these guidelines. Violations will result in content removal, account strikes, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.

  1. Harassment and Hate Speech: We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, or hate speech. You may not post content or send messages that target, degrade, or incite violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, caste, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability.
  2. Violence, Graphic, or Illegal Acts: Do not post media that depicts real-world graphic violence, gore, or animal cruelty. Furthermore, Tippnee may not be used to facilitate, organize, or promote illegal acts, including the sale of regulated goods, weapons, or illicit substances.
  3. Sexual Content and Child Endangerment: Tippnee strictly prohibits explicit adult content, pornography, and non-consensual sexual imagery.
    Child Safety: We have a zero-tolerance policy for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or the endangerment of minors. Any such content is subject to immediate removal and permanent account suspension. Furthermore, Tippnee reserves the right to, and will, cooperate fully with appropriate law enforcement authorities (such as the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal in India, NCMEC, or local cybercrime units) and report such violations as required by applicable law.
  4. Spam and Misinformation: Do not use Tippnee to spam users, manipulate engagement metrics, or distribute malicious links. We also prohibit the deliberate spread of harmful misinformation that poses a threat to public safety, elections, or public health.
  5. Intellectual Property and Copyright: You must respect the intellectual property rights of others. Do not post content that infringes upon someone else’s copyright, trademark, or other legal rights. If you believe your rights have been violated, please use the in-app reporting tool, and our legal team will request documentation to process a takedown.
  6. Self-Harm and Suicide: We care about the well-being of our community. Content that encourages, promotes, or provides instructions on self-harm or suicide is strictly prohibited. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to local emergency services or a crisis hotline immediately.
How We Enforce These Rules

Tippnee uses a combination of Automated Moderation and Human Review to keep the platform safe.

  • Reporting: If you see something that breaks these rules, please use the “Report” button on the post.
  • The Strike System: Minor violations may result in a warning (Strike 1). Repeated violations will result in a 7-day account suspension (Strike 2). Severe violations, or accumulating a third strike, will result in a permanent account ban.
  • Appeals: If your content was removed or your account was suspended, you will receive a direct message from the Tippnee Admin. You may reply to that message to appeal the decision if you believe a mistake was made.
PART 3: INDIA-SPECIFIC DISCLOSURES AND COMPLIANCE

If you are a user accessing the Application from India, the following provisions apply to you in addition to Part 1 and Part 2, in accordance with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (as amended).

1. Grievance Redressal Mechanism

In compliance with the Indian IT Rules, Tippnee has appointed a Grievance Officer to address any complaints regarding content, privacy, or safety on the Application.

Timelines: The Grievance Officer will acknowledge your complaint within 24 hours of receipt and endeavor to resolve it within 7 days. Complaints concerning content that exposes private areas, shows full or partial nudity, depicts sexual acts, or features artificially morphed images will be acted upon as expeditiously as possible and within the legally mandated timeframes.

2. Data Retention for Indian Users

Notwithstanding the Account Deletion clauses in Part 1, if you delete your account from India, the Service Provider is legally required under Rule 3(1)(h) of the IT Rules to securely retain your registration data and associated records for a period of one hundred and eighty (180) days after the cancellation or withdrawal of your registration. This data is kept strictly for investigative purposes by lawfully authorized government agencies and will be permanently deleted after this period expires.

3. Strict Prohibition of Synthetic Content (Deepfakes)

To comply with the IT Rules (as amended), the creation, generation, modification, or publication of unlawful synthetically generated information (including deepfakes, morphed imagery, and non-consensual intimate imagery) is strictly prohibited. Generating or sharing such content may attract severe penalties under Indian laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. Tippnee will take immediate action to remove such content, terminate the offending account, and report the offense to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

4. Additional Prohibited Content

In addition to the Community Safety Guidelines in Part 2, users in India must not host, display, upload, modify, publish, transmit, store, update, or share any information that:

  • Threatens the unity, integrity, defence, security, or sovereignty of India, friendly relations with foreign States, or public order.
  • Causes incitement to the commission of any cognisable offence or prevents the investigation of any offence.
  • Deceives or misleads the addressee about the origin of the message or knowingly communicates misinformation or information which is patently false and untrue.
  • Impersonates another person.
  • Promotes enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion or caste with the intent to incite violence.
5. Periodic Notifications

As per regulatory requirements, Tippnee will periodically (at least once every three months) remind users of these rules, the privacy policy, the user agreement, and the consequences of non-compliance. Non-compliance may result in the termination of access rights and/or removal of non-compliant information.

6. Advertiser KYC Verification

To ensure accountability and comply with local regulatory standards for digital advertising in India, users placing paid advertisements or promotions must complete a one-time identity verification.

  • Data Minimization: We do not request this from general users. This requirement applies strictly to users utilizing paid advertising features.
  • What We Collect: An Indian Permanent Account Number (PAN) card or Goods and Services Tax (GST) Certificate.
  • Purpose & Security: This data is used solely to verify advertiser identity, prevent deceptive advertising, and establish legal accountability for published content. The documents are transmitted over secure connections, stored in restricted backend environments, and are permanently purged after the applicable legal retention period expires.
PART 4: CHANGES AND CONSENT
Changes

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy. You are advised to consult this Privacy Policy regularly for any changes, as continued use is deemed approval of all changes.
